  • Winter Sale! Dec 10, 2009
    Dear friends,

Thinker Thought Records has just repressed our last full-length album "Here Lies Empty Orchestra" in a handsome digipak with amazing new artwork by our friend and best human ever Dave Kloc.

To celebrate this and various upcoming holidays, we're making a special offer in our webstore: buy either the new CD or the vinyl version of "Here Lies..." and get a copy of our 7" FREE. All vinyl comes with a digital copy of the music included, so even if you don't have a record player, you win. And the holidays are all about winning, yes? Yes.

We also have new t-shirts and several older designs at reduced prices, so go now and stimulate the economy. It's what the Baby Jesus would want.

  • More Vinyl! More Shows! More Press!
More! More! More! Mar 3, 2009

    Dear friends, for your consideration...

    POINT OF INTEREST:
Run out immediately and buy a copy of the latest issue of AMP magazine. Turn to page 75. You’ll find a huge picture of Stephen’s big-ass head, photographed by the remarkable Joseph Xu. You’ll also find a fine full-page spread about EO, written by the remarkable Katie Moran. In it, we dish about all the fucked-up celebrity gossip we’re involved with as members of the “entertainment industry” and beg the paparazzi to stop taking nude photos of us with sports lenses. You can buy copies online at both interpunk.com and smartpunk.com – and while you’re there, why not pick up a cd?

    POINT OF INTEREST:
We are playing almost nonstop during the month of march. Check out myspace or the performance schedule to track us down. This weekend, we’ll be in Iowa and Chicago, so please come out and make us feel at home while abroad.

In Michigan, we’ll be playing with fantastic bands like Langhorne Slim, the Finale, Mason Proper and more. We’ll also be saying farewell to a great band filled with great friends, Scouts Honor, as they make their last stop in Michigan at Mac’s Bar in Lansing on Tuesday 3/24. Come out and make sure they get the night they deserve.

    POINT OF INTEREST:
We are almost sold out of the initial run of “Here Lies Empty Orchestra,” and so to celebrate how far our little album has come, the good people at Thinker Thought Records are pressing it on vinyl!

Witness the details: brown vinyl with pink splatter, heavy 140g weight, with brand new silkscreened artwork. The first 150 copies will be printed on vintage, randomly colored 1960s paper stock. Could we possibly do anything more to make this thing any more awesome? The answer is no. If you don’t have a device that turns etched grooves into rock and roll, don’t panic – there will be a download code and/or cd-r included to satisfy your digital device. Just hang the record on your wall. It’ll be that pretty.

Copies will be available no later than march 24, and we will be surely posting pre-order information soon along with some sort of test press contest. Because that shit rhymes.

Also, we’d like to remind you that there are still copies of our latest 7” available in the web store.

    We’re geeks! Thank you!

    With love,
    Empty Orchestra
  • New 7-Inch Available For Pre-Order Dec 10, 2008
    Dear friends,

Last year, we went into the studio to record two new songs for a split 7-inch. Then bad luck happened. Over and over.

Long story short, we finally have them in hand, and they're rad. We're all vinyl nerds, and they make us go weak in our geeky knees. Details: White vinyl from Capeside Records. Two new songs from us - 'It's All True' and 'The Ballad of Bulls Run' (which anyone who's seen us play in the last several months might recognize as the song about the 1936 Flint auto workers' sit-down strike), plus one new song from San Diego's The Silverbird Band. Although they've since gone on hiatus, The Silverbird Band is the alt-country project from former Counterfit singer and our friend Justin Rodriguez (you should also check out his new band Old Palominos).

Pre-orders for the 7-inch are now up in our webstore, and you can check out a preview of 'Ballad of Bulls Run' at www.myspace.com/emptyorchestra. All pre-orders will ship no later than January 1, and we expect to have them ready for the big holiday reunion show in Flint on December 27. Also, when we got the vinyl in, we noticed that there were a limited number that turned out as an awesome looking white/gray swirl, and so we are offering these copies to the first people who pre-order, while they last.

All records will come with a cd-r version of the songs, too, so don't feel left out if you don't have an archaic machine to translate plastic into sound. We're very excited about this, and very proud of these songs, so go check it out.

    Thanks, everyone.
